  Wow, I was really looking forward to this one, but after seeing it I don’t understand the praise it’s getting at all.

  Terrible dialogue, underdeveloped characters, and a central romance that isn’t at all believable. 

  Half the audience (myself included) was laughing out loud at how bad the dialogue is. 

  This feels like the type of movie that people say they think is good just because they’ve heard other people say it’s good.

  This had potential. Could have been good had it focused more on the family dynamics at the house, but the few worthwhile moments were completely eclipsed by the ridiculous hype truck/boxing gloves plot. To me the focus on this storyline is either lack of courage by the writers to explore real, complex issues, or studio interference, or both. Overall it felt very hacky and not worth the watch. If you’re on the fence, skip it.
