Always engaging with the sharp editing. Characters barely emote(except for one sneaky solid shot when he learns about demise of his daughter) and repress their emotions leading to finally bursting out into ugly violence. The father should've at least confronted his son. Bresson only showing one side/reaction of the crime. We can see the impulses of our protagonist which keeps on adding till he confesses his crime. Don't know why the crowd is asking for more at the end.Lack of proper communication between families themselves. The MC still doesn't learn shame when he's being lectured by new cellmate. It's ironic/comical when they start drinking alcohol.

Mulholland Drive 2001
It's one of the most meta movies ever - it's literally about how movies are these strange illusory things that can you can get completely lost in, but at the same time David Lynch is telling you that it can lead you to ruin because of how fleeting it is. The audition sequence is one of the best examples because right before it happens, Betty is rehearsing the dialogue with Rita and it sounds like the corniest soap opera bullshit…

A New Life 2002
Amusing but exhaustive in style. Should rewatch again after 5 years or so.

Autumn Sonata 1978
The direction/camera movement was sometimes uninspired. Unconvincing and empty character arcs. They are still excellent performances.
