    Adolescence

If you’re making a story about the manosphere radicalising children, about rising misogyny, about the murder of a teenage girl by a male classmate, you probably want to do things like:

    - Feature the victim
    - Explore the victim’s family and friends
    - Spend time with the female characters, including Jamie’s mother and sister
    - Try and examine the effect of the manosphere or social media beyond a quick namedrop of Andrew Tate

As well-made as Adolescence clearly is, this is…

  • Django Unchained

remember leaving the cinema and hearing some old lady going “i thought this would be a nice film about slavery”

A stage play that got the Super 70mm treatment. I'm almost impressed at how spiteful and nihilistic this is, sitting between Django's heroic crusade and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood's nostalgic hangout. If it weren't for the little humanising character moments, this would be so adolescent it might as well be wearing a pair of Doc Martens.

Walton Goggins walked away with this. Chris Mannix looks like some dumb Johnny Reb hick but is much sharper than he lets on. A true Guy I Love To See
