  Coming of age is not my favorite genre for no reason, and this movie only add to my ever growing love to teenage centered stories. Sara is literally the most relatable 13 year old who just happens to have a gay mom and that's exactly what makes this film brilliant. Rara's impact has so much to do with the accuracy of it's portrayal of what being a preteen, something quiet unusual in the genre due to the long list of made up stereotypes filmmakers are obsessed with (that makes it seen as if they've never been teens themselves).
