  with its magnificent storytelling, princess mononoke explores the relationship between nature and humanity, the growth of human societies at the expense of nature, and human greed.

  the film's immense creativity is illustrated by its gorgeous and detailed animation, making each scene and the film as a whole a pleasure to watch. the visuals in princess mononoke are further enhanced by its soundtrack, which complements the film beautifully.

  rather than conforming to the superficial good-vs-bad view of morality, princess mononoke and its characters tell a beautiful tale of the intricate morality surrounding life and death. this film easily took a spot in my favourites.

  found it refreshing to see a horror film that was shot in a (mostly) bright setting (as opposed to the dark settings common to the genre). great use of silence to create a suspenseful atmosphere. beautiful cinematography and acting. will most likely watch the director's cut one day.
