2nd watch of the year (so far).
It still blows my mind there are detractors of this film. It is utterly flawless and endlessly detailed. An ultra mean spirited greek tragedy that exudes pure evil. A vantablack nightmare from which no hope or happiness escapes. And a terrifying reminder that familial damage can be so strong that it poisons our blood and taints future generations.Translated from by -

Stand On It! 2020
Not even done with the film yet. I'm living my worst nightmare. Stuck in a house with my MAGA parents as hurricane Milton passes. Todays topics of discussion included "hurricanes are manufactured", "FEMA is stealing peoples property", and "fetuses scream during abortions." For dessert this film was put on. Its dogshit. Makes me not want to ever watch Smoky and the bandit. Every fucking shot is green screened. Edited like the editor was a monkey having a seizure. This film has proactively discouraged me from my dream to be a filmmaker as i will always fear making a film this bad. Fuck.

His first collaboration with Hoytema results in what is possibly one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring sci-fi films of the century. Zimmer's soundtrack is (as always) a perfect fit and becomes an integral part of the film being told. Constant Nolan collaborator Lee Smith demonstrates yet again that he knows how to make his stories flow in…
