    I Vitelloni

    ★★★★★

I Vitelloni is an early masterpiece by acclaimed Italian director Federico Fellini. For writing and directing the film Felini drew a lot from his personal life, making the movie highly authentic.

It deals with a group of close friends, the Vitelloni (a term for slackers) living in a small coastal town in Italy. They are all diferent in character, but what they have in common is that they all feel trapped in a place too uneventful for their youthful energy. Unemployed…

    Groundhog Day

    ★★★★

Featuring Bill Murray at his best, Groundhog day is timeless and utterly hilarious.

Reliving the same day over and over again for years is a concept with lots of potential, and the movie uses the concept optimally. It's heartening, funny and clever throughout without bothering us with how or why the phenomena is happening , the focus is wisely set on the characters and character development.

In the end you can't help but wonder would you do in the same situation.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

    ★★★★★

Master and Commander is a grand scale naval adventure set during the Napoleonic wars, with Russel Crowe in the lead as a daring captain of a British warship.

Most of the movie takes aboard the ship and the cast is composed of the crew members. The captains story is the prevalent one , but the movie also features very interesting and diverse supporting cast, from the ships surgeon to a young and brave midshipman. All of the characters and the…

    Silver Linings Playbook

    ★★★★½

The resolution was a bit formulaic, but other than that it was energetic and funny throughout. Everyone in the cast does an outstanding job and are easy to connect to. Even though only Brandon Cooper's character has been institutionalized, they are all a little crazy and everyone has their issues. He and Jenifer Lawrence portray two troubled young people with grace and maturity (and also look very good ). It's just a movie that's incredibly easy to like.
