This is not a good film. The twist got me, but I was bored throughout and there is some atrocious acting. I'm so confused how this is so highly rated.

Surprisingly boring for such a high-calibre cast. I mean... nothing happens in this film. I have come to realise that, with period dramas, if I don't like the lead man then I won't enjoy it and sadly this is the case. Since Bridget Jones, Hugh Grant has and forever will be the smarmy one who doesn't deserve the girl, so I struggle to see him as a nice character.
Additionally, this film doesn't really have anything going for it. The score is non-existant, the cinematography is fine, the acting is solid but forgettable. Sorry guys... not for me.Translated from by
