I was really taken by this in the first half. Completely different from any of the Potter films. Then it gets into a storyline I wasn’t much invested in. That’s when I realized this should have been a television series or miniseries instead. And Eddie Redmayne feels like such a non entity here. But hey the creatures are cute kinda.

Wildly overhated but still justifiably hated somehow. It makes the egregious error in 2025 of casting Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown, costing an obscene amount of money and being a Netflix exclusive film.

Based on the haunting artwork which I’ve loved since I first saw it, this depicts many of those images without the same level of life and detail as the art. Okay that part sucks.

It also plays up this world as very light when it should…

A crackling thriller from start to finish with some terrific comedy mixed in, plus a dash of twists and turns. Undeniably a fantastic pairing of Hepburn and Grant, with an equally terrific supporting cast. I saw this once before and remember loving it but was surprised by what I forgot. Don’t think that’ll happen again.

Would love to give it a perfect score but I thought the ending with Hepburn and Grant could have been better. Seemed to be a bit too silly. Thankfully doesn’t take away from the whole experience.

Really solid, well-paced story that doesn’t do much to surprise you but does enough to keep you invested start to finish. Two excellent performances in Newman and Kennedy. Certain movies just tell you a great story and that is its greatest strength. Cool Hand Luke is one of those movies.
