  “Victory belongs to the most persevering.” The cries of Vive l’empereur ring shockingly hollow in a film meant to capture an impression of the eponymous titan of human history.

  So, for a sequel 24 years removed from the original story, I think they did a pretty good job. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and was pretty pleasantly surprised. Some parts felt almost recycled and I get the temptation for trying to mirror some of the successes of the first film. All in all, it was a decent, enjoyable, and sometimes exciting film which was unfortunately, almost wholly divorced from history.
