La La Land 2016
I hate musicals so when the first scene was a full out dance and song scene I was worried. However, I think this movie is the perfect balance between a musical and a drama. Plus the dance/song scenes weren’t cheesy like some musicals; they were actually good.
Sebastian playing Mia and Sebastian’s theme for the first time in the restaurant just made me smile so much. It was truly beautiful.
Oh and I love jazz so that’s a bonus.

Holy shit growing up is so bittersweet, and if you think about it too much it seems to be only bitter. Sometimes I feel like nothing has really happened in my life, but at other times I realize how much time has really passed and how much I’ve grown. And then I realize I have no idea what I’m doing and I freak out.
I guess I should take the final words of this film to heart: “It’s like it’s always right now.” We can only live in the present, so there’s no need to always have the future (and the past) figured out.
