I’m all laughed out from this movie when I was a kid. The narration provides much of the humor, pre Airplane straight line readings. This is the 3 hour TV cut of the movie. A few actual new parts that were nice to see, but unfortunately most of the added length is extending scenes, which reuses reaction shots multiple times, and in at least one case using a different shot/take that the character of Jack just spoke 10 seconds before (Dwan sitting on the grate over Kong’s pen on the supertanker). I now realize how well edited the theatrical version is compared to this.…

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde 1980
From the same writer as Louis Jourdan‘s BBC Count Dracula 1977. I really enjoyed this retelling, but it is not pleasant. Plays up on the status of the rich and the surrounding poverty. Hyde’s evil is the direct violence he inflicts upon lower status persons including children. Jekyll’s fiancé reaction to Hyde was wonderfully spot on, to me at least.
