I recall watching this on TV when I was younger, especially remembering the iconic moment when the sea parted and when Moses turned his staff into a snake.
I decided to get this limited edition set, which came with a nice boxset and a booklet with some production notes and pictures. It includes the 1923 silent film and, of course, the 1956 version with its special features, all during Barnes & Noble’s 50% off sale on Paramount films.

I watched this in 4K, part of the Lion’s Gate Limited Edition Boutique line, which came with both films in a nice hard-cover box set. It even included a cool magnet for easy opening and closing. I’m rewatching it because I started the penguin show, and I’m reminded of how much I love this film.
The runtime flies by; I’m completely entertained and engaged throughout. The portrayal of a young Bruce Wayne, still finding his footing, showcases his detective skills brilliantly—it's an great origin story. Visually stunning, this dark take on Batman is a master piece for Matt Reeves.

One thing he excels at is making his films feel authentic and engaging. The dialogue, was simple, but comes across as raw and authentic, and he’s great at capturing the essence of the location much like he did in The Florida Project.
His cinematography also stands out, with creative camera work and his beautiful long shots, particularly in Coney Island.
    As for the story, it…
