Half way through watching this I figured out this was based on a real life murder that I remember seeing on the news.
The girls in the football shirts gave it away.. and the name Ian Huntley.
It made me realise how fucked up it is when you have living memory of these things, how disgusting the nature of true crime dramas really are.
And how shows like The Sixth Commandment are the exception and not the rule.
