  I feel like following up Black Narcissus with this film isn’t quite fair to The Small Back Room. Black Narcissus is, without a doubt, a masterpiece, so The Small Back Room has to be my second favorite British noir film, but it’s a close second.

  Shockproof 1949

  This was a solid, old-school, noir film, but I’m sad to say, it didn’t impress me as much as I hoped it would.

  The cinematography was interesting on and off, and the story seemed to be developing beautifully… until the parole officer proposed to his parolee. I actually laughed because it seems so insane. The time span of certain events was a bit hard to follow, so the proposal seemed way too sudden, to the point it was unbelievable. More…

  Eggers has gone above and beyond once again. This film honors the original in so many ways. At the same time, it references and stays true to many traits and vampiric “rules” from each different version of Nosferatu. Eggers’ unmistakable style shines through from the very first scene.

  Aquaman officially has the lowest rating I’ve given any film.

  I could hardly sit through 10 minutes of this films shit acting, shit writing, terrible CGI, and lack of any plot whatsoever, but I persevered.
