    Hands of Stone

    ★★★

Hands of Stone has been on my watchlist since I can remember, so it was nice to finally get around to watching it and I can say that it was a little bit better than I expected. At least to start.

It starts off pretty strong, albeit rushed, but I found myself completely invested into this story for the first half of the film but unfortunately it goes a bit downhill after that.

Hands of Stone is definitely a mixed bag, ultimately held together by strong performances from Edgar Ramirez and Robert De Niro but still decent nonetheless.

    The Matrix

The Matrix is an expertly crafted movie with some revolutionary action sequences and special effects, especially for its time, but the story was a little confusing and hard to follow.

I like the dystopian feel of it and everything about this movie from the production side of things is obviously quite remarkable.

I can imagine how groundbreaking this might've been seeing this on the big screen in 1999, but seeing this at home in 2025, it didn't do a whole…

I'll be thinking about that third act for a long time. Cailee Spaeny is a star!

    Fly Me to the Moon

    ★★★★

Fly Me to the Moon was one of my most anticipated movies of the year and while it was different than I expected, it was different in a good way. Much more of a dramedy than romcom and just so well done.

Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum certainly elevate this, as does Woody Harrelson, but really, the entire cast is great.

The thing I think I loved the most about this is that it felt like an old school movie, like something that would have been made in the 70's.
