Seven Samurai 1954
Conquered the behemoth…
With its playful tone & big scale action, it basically sets the template of the modern blockbuster without ever losing the burning sorrow at its core.
There’s no ride off into the sunset here as there would be in a Hollywood western, only a mournful gaze into a sunken, dejected pit of despair; a final exasperated sigh at the havoc wreaked & the lives lost. Kurosawa is the undisputed master of cinema.Translated from by -
Sorority House Massacre 1986
Kinda sux
Hits the 3 B’s of watchable slasher garbage (Boobs, Blood, Bad acting), but there’s zero tension. If you’re going to rip-off Carpenter, a tense atmosphere should be the starting point. Slumber Party Massacre clears.Translated from by

The Young Philadelphians 1959
An over-long melodrama that’s main concern was giving the audience as many scenarios to thirst over Paul Newman as possible. You got manly construction worker Paul Newman! White suit Paul Newman! Army hero Paul Newman! Tuxedo Paul Newman! At one point they really leaned into it and just had him holding a puppy because who the fuck cares about this movie anymore, Paul Newman is HOLDING A PUPPY
