not the biggest fan, i think the story is not very interesting and, although it's very well directed, there's just so much you can do with an uninteresting story. the scene about cigarettes and lynch's presence in the movie are golden though, definitely upped the score an entire star for me.

harrowing, harrowing stuff. the only thing more scary and cruel than empathizing with those whose mistakes are well known is empathizing with those whose secrets we do not know. one of the greatest movies i've watched, but one i could never return to.
