the main character actor is phenomenal tbh. his small facial expressions are captured really poignantly because it’s mostly long shots. there’s smth to be said about the use of reflection and lines (specifically framing of characters and almost separation?) but im unclear exactly yet. i think the movie posits that we live for people and our immediate community, but the effects also go beyond our immediate present

some really clever filmmaking here regarding the use of out-of-focus/framing especially within the context of bars/longer intense shots that really allows the viewers to be in proximity with the actors/capturing the feelings of being trapped and the contrast with the vastness of the closing scenes. a lot of peeking in, almost like we’re not allowed in at first, until fully being embraced by the scene. there’s so much heart in this movie
