  Michael Gawdd. I recommend this for anyone who likes movies that kick ass. For reasons passing understanding, Tangerine Dream’s Oscar-worthy score won a Razzie.

  There are plenty of nits to pick here. I buy that Frank (James Caan) wants the normal barbecues and ballgames life that DeNiro’s McCauley mocks in Heat but the speed at which he and Jessie (Tuesday Weld) commit to that—and to adopting a child, to boot—didn’t seem that credible.   A lot of good and interesting stuff in this one, and some A+ moments. There should be an Oscar for best use of existing music (named in honor of Marty) and this movie’s use of “Father Figure” by George Michael was pure, unadulterated cinema at its finest. Half a star bonus for that alone. The whole cast excels.
