  Miles actually feels like a writer rather than a movie writer because he's an aspirational sadsack that is bad at talking about his work.

  I was somewhat interested in the two loser friends, but I never felt too involved and never felt anything that made me understand *why* they were friends in the first place.

  I re-watched this for the first time in a long time today. I was really wowed by the effects and sets this time around, it creates such an engrossing world in a short period of time. Also all those other good Alien things.

  Jones is a good cat.
