  Technically brilliant and there were parts I loved (the sobbing birds, harem insanity, ending sequence, how the camera moved throughout). But I just did not connect or sympathize with the main character and the film is constructed entirely around and through him. Nor did I really care if his movie got made or not. Great women tho

  Again I’m faced with a technically “good film,” with wonderful performances, that left me feeling completely dead inside. The ending shot seemed like a deeply depressing joke, though one that does say a lot about Lydia and what she’s willing to do, and not do, for her own self image. If you look too closely, closer than the film actually does, at any of the characters and the repercussions, you might see a lot of untapped life.
