There’s a good movie in here somewhere (mostly outside the confines of a Hollywood biopic), but I think what quite obviously holds this together are the musical performances (Chalamet and the rest of the cast as well). To quote Mr. Hawke, “…And that's when art's not a luxury, it's a sustenance. You need it.” Each musical number is the purest example of those words.
I’ve probably seen this movie 27 times at this point. It's a masterpiece, I said it.
