My Brilliant Career 1979
1 star for the scene where she is sitting in the tree writing in her journal while the little black kittens are crawling around
1/2 star for the ending scene with the silhouette over sunset backdrop
Otherwise the only feelings I felt were those of boredom and annoyance

Medium Cool 1969
Medium Cool is one of those films that has so much happening that there is nothing happening. The first scene after the opening credits intrigued me by the way that it was filmed and scripted to feel to authentic, like we were really watching the footage that someone shot while walking around a the party. The camera work and the idea of blending reality and fiction were effective throughout, but the actual narrative fizzled out in exchange for more focus…

Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon 1995
This movie is certainly among the best Dragonball movies while also being a very strong film in its own right. Featuring the introduction of Tapion + Tapion’s song, the origins of Trunks’ sword, and Goku’s Dragon Fist technique, Wrath of the Dragon is loaded with highlights (buildings are destroyed, dragon balls collected, z-fighters defeated, fusion dances performed, etc.). The movie is elevated by it’s focus on mysterious hero Tapion and his unlikely friend, young Trunks, which make it unique and memorable.
