This whole movie is fucking gutless, and unpleasant to watch with absolutely no payoff. The audience is forced to just sit and watch this sad white boi laugh maniacally for two hours. And the moral of the story? Society is BAD. I can’t remember where I read this, but it sums up how I feel: “this movie gets it wrong because it assumes that if you push an angry, crazy white guy enough to become outraged, he will actually target the right people.”

Bird Box 2018
I hate this movie so much. The entire plot relies on the audience suspending their disbelief that blind people only live in serene convents in the woods. This movie creates a world in which sight becomes disabling. A more thoughtful movie would have grappled with the fact that in this world, the inability to see would actually be ableness. Instead we just get a bunch of morons running around blindfolded.
