I LOVED THIS!!! This is my favorite of the year so far. This movie makes a very convincing case that style over substance isn’t just okay but can be AWESOME.
I just LOVE when a movie is very self contained in one simple environment. The characters and drama are really all just surrounding the environment of tennis, the stakes of their interpersonal relationships and the stakes of the match they’re in are completely intertwined. Alien: Romulus 2024
I really loved this. I appreciate how each installment in this franchise really tries something new. I just live for this genre. Absolutely thrilling. This is probably #3 in my ranking of all the alien movies behind the original two.
I do think it was a cool idea to have an old model synthetic that looks just like rook from the originals, but that cgi face was terrible. Can’t imagine how they looked at that and thought that was passable in any way. Like let’s just accept our technology isn’t there yet and stop doing shit like that. Big stain on an otherwise awesome movie
