The Monkey 2025
This was a disappointment. Perkins doesn't seem to quite get the pacing right and the film as a whole feels messy.
I felt like we jump from scene to scene with not much actually happening. The kill scenes were ok I guess but not enough to get the laughs they were aiming for. Wish I'd waited for this one to come on a streaming platform.

I appreciate the practical effects, the look of the film itself is beautiful and the throwback to the 70s/80s video nasties but unfortunately that's about all I appreciated.
The film itself has prolonged family scenes with terrible dialogue and seems to cut from scene to scene in a messy fashion. I actually felt quite bored even the kills bored me as they went on too long and were so over the top I found myself yawning (shower scene excluded)

The Last Stop in Yuma County 2023
A hot American desert, a diner, groovy 60s/70s, crime, great soundtrack, great cinematography and an amazing cast! All right up my street. This film has lots to offer and all within a 90 mins run time! Which seems to be rare nowadays. The tone of the film reminded me of Fargo with it's occasional dark comedic moments combined with the looming tension. Well done Galluppi 👏🏻
