Was skeptical going in but expected more.
A very dumb, basically literalist, sketch of a movie that someone came up with after watching there will be blood and the master (though clearly Corbet has seen other movies too, which is super impressive and not… ummm… simply something one should expect from a person that makes or likes movies).

Can be boiled down to the moment when Shailene Woodley tries to convince a mass murderer not to commit suicide by telling him that she can “Get [him] medication. It works!” One of the dumbest iterations of “You have to be crazy to understand crazy” out there. This is a missed opportunity for classic garbage crime cinema.

Mulling over the fact that it seems to be a truism among Nolan-heads that « the bigger screen on which you watch a Nolan movie, the better you can understand Nolan’s greatness. » I can watch Lawrence of Arabia on a laptop screen and still understand that it’s an amazing movie.
