  Love both parts, the one with Charles Laughton's delightful tour de force and the other, with one of the most beautiful and romantic couples I've watched in films: Brenda De Banzie performance is mesmerizing and John Mills is absolutely fantastic.

  A lovely film, I had a smile on my face throughout the entire run of it.

  Some quick thoughts after just watched this wonderful gem.

  -A truly delightful view of a world populated by working class people. The treatment is respectful, tender, sympathetic, honest. Not only the Vaudeville world and petty criminals are fairly depicted, but also policemen, journalists, taxi-drivers, waitress, cloakroom attendants and photographers among others.
