If for only an hour, Gold Ninja’s blu-Ray presentation of White Zombie transported me back 30 years, when I would stay up too late on a Saturday night to watch public domain horror movies on public access television.
White Zombie itself is still a treat on its own, but the phantasmagoric presentation on this beat up 16mm library print, along with talking head moments from the Important Cinema Club, amplifies this presentation in a way that has been lost over the years as homogenized broadcasting and streaming has removed the thrill of late night discoveries from the world.
