I just rewatched this movie and can't believe I had the courage to watch it again. The love between children is so pure, so tangible, yet society—like shattered glass—painted it as something fragile, something that couldn't survive or grow stronger. This love chose freedom over continuing to exist in a form that could no longer be called love.
