    The bastardization of the truth used to subjugate people. Couldn’t imagine that being timely right now. 

    Not my favorite in the series by a longshot but the Ape films continue to stack good entries because beyond the great effects and strong characters, they are about *Something*. 

    No idea where they go from here but i’ll be watching.

    The film bites off far more than it can chew. From wanting to delve into the history of Black Chicago to gentrification and police dynamics. The film also fails miserably at putting together any effective scares. Candyman (2021) only accomplishes pointing to Candyman (1992) as the better film.

    Was shocked when I saw it was only 90 minutes, hard to imagine there is worse content on the cutting room floor.

    A modern existential horror film about our digital personas with an amazing performance from Brewer. The film’s downfall is every other actor onscreen with it’s star. Cam is smart enough to lean into it’s strengths and not explain too much, and showcase the Alice/Lola dynamic as the film’s center.
