  The heroes journey meets a multiverse story that’s is heartfelt and zany. Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman’s writing and use of comic elements makes the film still feel fresh after 5 years. There are some great Easter eggs and homage to hip hop culture. The multiverse twists are done well and the original character designs are within eyeshot of their multiverse counterparts.
