    This is bullshit, none of the animals even talked 😤

    For real though, a gorgeously animated (save for some PS2 graphics-lookin’ dogs) adventure that tells its story through simple sounds and visuals. My heart ached for all these critters in their post-apocalyptic plight. I’m a dog guy, but heck, I was still rooting for that lil cat and its multispecies crew!

    I’m glad a labor of love like this got the recognition it did from the Academy!

    I’m a big fan of the Hellboy comics, so the two film adaptations that came after del Toro’s duology pain me with their drop in quality. Unlike the David Harbour one, this one’s limited budget was more on display, though I certainly don’t fault the filmmakers for that. Hellboy isn’t exactly a hot property at the moment! Between the fun horror set pieces and visuals, the story sadly dragged a tad.

    I’m an absolute slut for horror satire, especially when done right. Fargeat absolutely nailed it! The social commentary was unsubtle, but from me that’s a compliment.
