[Just Part 8 - "Gotta Light?"]
Lynch's force in the minutiae is remarkable. The young couple's interaction after the walk home embodies all that Twin Peaks is about: the forcing of a man onto a woman leading to hyper-conflicting sexual feelings/identity and a rollercoaster of depravity, a nuclear blast of sin radiating out towards everything around it. Even more, the creature borne of American wickedness has infested the woman and lives inside of her, and it has lived there ever since, lurking behind the disguise of idyllic Americana we try to act like exists. What a heavy punch from a minuscule vignette.
