Glad I get to be alive during this era of Mark Ruffalo‘s acting career.

Also some very funny parallels with Nausicaa!

“[Group] puts on a production of [always Hamlet or Midsummer Night’s Dream] despite [obstacles]” is a genre itself these days, and I’ll happily watch every film it has to offer! There’s something about the creative pursuit—the intricacies and inherent drama to theater production, the perpetual timeliness and timelessness of Shakespeare and breadth of interpretation—that lends itself wonderfully to documentary filmmaking. That Grand Theft Hamlet combines two of my specific interests so boldly is just a bonus.

My GOD, what to even SAY? I could describe it like this:

    EXPONENTIAL GROWTH: THE MOVIE.

COWS & COWS & COWS: THE MOVIE.

    SPY VS. SPY: THE MOVIE.

It starts small and modest (relatively), you’ll be thinking what’s with all the hype, AND THEN IT STOPS…

At long last, I’ve seen it.

What a near-perfect genre film. Strangely enough, I think my favorite part was the props and process of the Substance itself. It was all so tactile and visceral, the different syringes, the segmented capsules, the precise and ominous labels, the suction feeding bags. Loved it. Beyond that, everything is so stylish and right in your face, very much like “Revenge”. There were a lot of moments that made me feel a kind of deep…
