  Has its moments when it understands the level of style and camp that, to me, an adaptation of a stage musical needs to succeed, but overall felt too often like going through the motions.

  Jonathan Bailey was perfect though.  You can tell he’s a theater kid at heart.

  Falls into that frustrating category of film that has interesting ideas but never allows itself time to explore them.  Needed a lot more Proximus.  Most thematically rich character in the movie by a mile and has less screen time than the nameless gorilla.

  Looks spectacular though.
