The Errand Boy 1961
There’s a lot of funny bits and disconnected segments in this, but nothing prepped me for the puppet scenes. It’s the only thing I’ll remember

Thrashin' 1986
I love me some movies made by 50 year olds about a youth subculture they don't really understand and this is a great one. When they showed the cool skate club where all the cool kids go to dance with their skateboards AND THEN halfway through the Red Hot Chili Peppers come out and start performing, I lost it. Pure cinema.
The villain is also surprisingly sensitive, which is an interesting choice.

The Lovers 1958
This is a very focused movie- it doesn't fuck around with subplots or side stories. Every ounce of this is about 50s bourgeois malaise. It's got a lot of The Graduate vibes, because you're watching a main character run to a love interest not so much out of love but from a need to escape and it nails that feeling.
I also really liked the ending. It's some of the only good ending narration I can think of- it confirms the bittersweetness of what happened while also adding an empowering element to it. That's such a hard balance to actually pull off.
