A Real Pain 2024
I love when film is earnest. Such a giant leap in quality from Eisenberg’s last experience at writing/directing (it wasn’t disastrous by any means but just not memorable) to this that I forgot it wasn’t his directorial debut. I feel like the reveal fell short, but everything else was great. Extremely solid obviously. Absolutely in love with the opening. Like, WOW. There were some ideas I had about utilizing the settings attitude that didn’t come through, but I’m not necessarily complaining. Can’t wait for the next installment.
