A genuinely great, downbeat subversion of the fairytale narrative and it’s tropes. Poor Things 2023
Up there with one of the weirdest found family films out there. I am so surprised that I didn’t hate this— the premise alone had me skeeved out for months, yet in all honesty, I loved this film. Very lynchian at some parts, the shoddy CGI and stylistic choices made the film feel patchwork in its own way, the story is uncomfortably endearing, it is bizarre, incredibly weird, but lovely at times
