so boring. it feels more like a montage than a movie about someone’s life. despite being based around priscilla’s actual memoir it’s misses several key events from the book that would tie the story together.
throughout the movie we never really get to understand why priscilla would fall for elvis initially. they hang out like three times and it’s awkward each time, then she just up and moves into his home far away from her family and he barely sees…

way better than sofia coppola’s “priscilla”
this movie helped me understand what drew priscilla to stay with elvis for so long and why the abuse and cheating didn’t have her immediately running. it also helped me understand why still to this day priscilla doesn’t really see anything wrong with the age gap and grooming after finding out her actual father was older than her mother when they got together.
for an 80s made for tv biopic, i had very low expectations but i was shocked that this was the only depiction of this relationship where i actually learned something and felt strong emotions towards these characters.
