    The Boondock Saints

The Boondock Saints is a St. Patrick’s Day holiday classic! This movie is a bloody fun action/thriller about two Irish brothers who set out to destroy the evil that plagues their home, the great city of Boston, to defend their kinsmen in the name of God.

    Sing Street

Sing Street is a wonderful Irish coming-of-age film, written and directed by John Carney, about the inspiration, beauty, and romance that music brings to people in a complicated and grueling world. Being set in the 1980s, this film really appeals to me; its soundtrack is filled with hit songs from the beloved era, and includes original songs (which are really good!) that really made the film feel special.

I might be a little biased, since I got to be an extra in this, but I honestly think that Jesus Revolution is a great movie. This movie does a really good job of reaching those inside the church, who need to be more loving and understanding, and those outside of the church, who wish to be loved and understood. Having the movie take place during such a pivotal movement, in both Christian and American history, really helps to spread…

    The Substance

    ★★★★½

Disgusting, repulsive, and sickening… yet I couldn’t keep my eyes off the screen. The Substance is such a creative movie that uses satire, science-fiction, social commentary, and sheer shock-factor to tell a story that’s raw, resonant, and really remarkable. I think everyone should see this movie at least once; it’s a life-changing experience.
On a side note, I really liked the cinematography and visual references to thriller/horror movies from the 70s and 80s. And Demi Moore’s performance… absolutely INSANE!
