Dark Angel: The Ascent 1994
List of reference points I thought of watching this movie: Labyrinth, Buffy, Angel, The Little Mermaid, The Silence of the Lambs, Splash, Anne Rice's vampire books, Spawn, The Last Unicorn, Stripped to Kill, the '80s Beauty and the Beast TV show... I could go on but the short version is that I love this immoderately and will put it in the rotation of my favorite dark female-fantasy comfort watches.
