I found this to be an enjoyable classic noir until the ending. Considering when this movie came out the ending was probably more unique, save for one VERY famous example, but by 2020 we’ve seen it a million times. This is at no fault to any of the filmmakers obviously. It also never sits right with me to have a happy ending in noir, part of the appeal of the genre for me is the nihilistic bleakness.

Near Dark 1987
For my money this will always be one of the top Vampire films of all time, and one of the few that has actually scared me, a dragon the long time horror fan is always chasing. The saloon scene is a perpetual eye-worm (thats a visual ear-worm I guess) that returns to my mind constantly.
Growing up in Nashville in the 90s I've never met a count, or antebellum old money honestly, but I've met plenty of bubbas in bad…

12 Angry Men 1957
In dealing with another migraine I couldn’t sleep last night, I decided to finally knock this off my list of classics I’ve put off way too long.
I’m having trouble not speaking in hyperbole regarding this film, it was magnetic from frame one, every performance near flawless, and the subject matter hasn’t lost an iota of its relevance 50+ years later.
I plan to watch this again (probably at the expense of other classics on my list) and again and again. I have no trouble envisioning this being my favorite movie of all time.
