These kind of movies faces a common question: “Why would an almighty evil force choose the hardest way possible?” The answer this movie provided is rather a disappointment: “to make a 90 minute movie.”

Also, sometimes it’s alot better to keep things SIMPLE. For example, not providing the protagonist a child, and making it a character simply on a date for a boyfriend would make the movie much more enjoyable. Otherwise, you have to deal with the character’s background much wisely.

    The Substance

    ★★½

Pointless technique, explicit message and exaggerated delivery. This movie gravitates people’s mind with the fact that “it’s about beauty and perception ahhh” but at the end, nothing is there to take away except for an elusion of “I witnessed something strong”

PS. same as Barbie, the same old dilemma of “we need to pinch how men thirsts beauty but we still have to cast a pretty actress.”

It is extremely sad to see such a masterpiece being hated simply because it draws a monster in an unfamiliar way.

It is the most romantic, aesthetic, and touching movie I’ve ever seen. Shows how skilled Guillermo is in video language.

All the discriminated, minor ones, and the ones behind the time, all love and that defines who they are.
