back for my yearly rewatch. greatest hip hop documentary ever made, shakespeare couldn’t write a better brothers to enemies betrayal/intrigue story, encapsulates the effects of fame, celebrity and the rap kayfabe on each member and the group dynamic, told with care and detail. the wu-tang deserved this !!!

I enjoyed this film in the way I enjoy any film that can treat with care the cinematic power of silence. It was an intimate look into the interpersonal relationships colonialism creates, what boundaries of desire and personhood are drawn and not drawn and the violence that underscores it all.
