From the moment the film opened, the gay vibe was HUGE. Although this movie is completely homophobic and dances with this idea of homosexual people being the soldiers of Satan, the coupling of murder with sexual fantasies perfectly represents the closeted experience of of someone living in a heteronormative society. Yes, murder should not be related to homosexuality, however; in the eyes of someone raised in a community in which homosexuality is forbidden, their desires, their 'oddities' relative to the 'normalities' of their audience is analogous to murder.
