Enys Men 2022
Truly a slippery sucker of a film. Basically no idea what’s real and what’s not throughout. Maybe the coastguard was legit? A great chiller movie tho, one for a late night when you really feel like getting uncomfortable and disturbed. Lots to be said for Mark Jenkin’s DIY aesthetic.

Contact Hours 2024
Contact Hours is a touching and earnest exploration of student suicide and how it can affect so many people. Rufus Love's naturalistic script follows a university caretaker as he copes with the incident, and as he interacts with the other students, we see how the effects of an incident like this ripple outwards. Director Harry Richards handles the subject matter with sensitivity, harnessing the power of visual motifs such as closed doors, blue siren lights and hiding the faces of characters from shot. In doing so, he constructs a meaningful visual language that is evocative, but avoids sensationalising such an important issue.
