Dressed to Kill 1980

Starts off so strong. And I respect the boldness of killing off the main character unexpectedly in the first act, but... I don't like where it goes from there, for a couple of reasons.
Just watch the art museum scene.Translated from by -
Snowpiercer 2013

All it takes is one or two child sacrifices per year to keep us on track. The secret to perpetual motion is the miracle of life; a small, soft creature born of love, placed inside a cage of machinery. If you object to this, then you object to humanity as a whole. There's a calculation, a process, that ensures survival with the requisite quantity of suffering. Samsara, the endlessly churning machine of death and birth, graduates from flesh into the human imagination, and then into steel.
I like this movie, it makes me feel better about the inevitable collapse of everything we've built.Translated from by

Top notch story, full of twists and turns, deeply confusing in a controlled way, Christopher Nolan feels like a wannabe all of a sudden.
I like Cronenberg, he's got the best/most disgusting ideas. I just wish he had more visual flair. His dialogue writing isn't strong enough to do all the heavy lifting in scenes of procedural shot/reverse shot. The few moments when he actually uses cinematic language are always gratifying. And he makes up for the rest with the FX work.

The fact that this is a two-parter makes it this generation's girl/gay equivalent to the new Dune movies.
