Under the Skin 2013
I prefer this Black Widow to the one in The Avengers.
Jonathan Glazer's full box of visual tricks, that must have been bottled up inside for the last 9 years since his last film, are unleashed with a restrained vengeance.
Wonderment, discovery, survival and luck.

Eros + Massacre 1969
By rejecting the banal in every single frame Yoshida sets himself a massive challenge.
The solid blacks and foggy whites, the cinematography blisters the viewer's retina with Yoshida using a double framing technique where by the characters are cropped by foreground objects in the larger frame.
It's like Yoshida is saying if you can't be bothered to remember the start of this film then how can memory be trusted when it comes to complex moments in history.
A striking piece of art that is only let down by the exaggerated manner of certain actors that can take the viewer out of the film at times.
